Correction to the earlier announcement  for applicants for the Director of CEP.  A Ph.D. is not required to apply. Officer should hold a graduate degree and be able to obtain a Ph.D. within three years.  Additionally the application submission deadline has been extended to 11 April 2008.

 

The United States Military Academy is accepting applications for the following senior faculty position:

 

DIRECTOR AND ACADEMY PROFESSOR, CENTER OF ENHANCED PERFORMANCE (CEP), OFFICE OF THE DEAN.  Principal responsibilities include leadership of academic and scholarly research programs and teaching undergraduate courses in reading, study skills, critical thinking, information literacy, and sport psychology.  Specific duties will include teaching, course and program directorship, supervision of military and civilian faculty, curriculum development, faculty development, cadet development outside the classroom, service on faculty committees, research, and managing outreach to the Army at large.  Candidates should have advanced degrees in Higher Education or Educational Psychology, and Applied Sport Psychology or Human Performance; field experience related to the disciplines taught in the CEP, including Sport Psychology, Student Development, or College Reading and Learning.  Applicants should either hold a Ph.D. degree or hold an M.S. degree and be able to obtain a Ph.D. or Ed D. within three years of appointment.  Dedication to excellence in teaching and a strong commitment to the education, military, physical, and ethical development of cadets  are  absolute requirements.  Candidates should possess an exemplary military record.  The United States Military Academy is an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action Employer.  Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
