MSG Christian R. Eberle
Bassoon
Master Sergeant
Christian Eberle, principal bassoonist, is originally from Kansas City,
Missouri. He joined the Army in June of 1987 while finishing his
Bachelor of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music.
He has studied with Leonard Sharrow, Sherman Walt, Louis Skinner and
Roland Small. MSG Eberle is a frequent soloist with the Military
Academy Band and is a founding member of the Academy Wind Quintet.
He has been a regular performer in numerous ensembles throughout the
tri-state region, including the Pone Ensemble for New Music, Hudson Valley
Philharmonic, Newburgh Chamber Symphony, Rockland County Choral Society,
Orange County Classic Choral Society and Nutmeg Opera Company.
Highlights of his career include two performances at International Double Reed Society conferences
(2001 & 2003) and a performance of the new
Concerto for Bassoon by Eric Ewazen with Dr. Ewazen in attendance.

SFC Glenn West
Bassoon
Sergeant First Class Glenn West, of
Spokane, WA, joined the Academy Band in September, 2004. Glenn's
previous military service includes duty with the 323rd Army Band in San
Antonio, TX, the USARUER Band and Chorus in Heidelberg, Germany and the
Air National Guard Band of the Northwest in Spokane, WA. A graduate
of the University of Minnesota with a Master of Music degree, Glenn
studied bassoon with Dr. Wendal Jones (Spokane Symphony), Charles Ullery
(St. Paul Chamber Orchestra) and Sharon Kuster (San Antonio
Symphony). He has performed with the San Antonio Symphony, La
Orquesta Sinfónica De La Universidad de Guanajuato, Mexico, the Spokane
Symphony and the Winter's Chamber Orchestra as well as chamber music with
the Mozart Octet of Spokane, WA and the Faculty Woodwind Quintets at the
University of Texas, San Antonio and Washington State University.
Glenn performs in the Academy Concert Band and the West Point Woodwind
Quintet.
