Regimental Brass Quintet

The Regimental Brass was founded in November, 1991, by members of the U.S. Military Academy Band.  Their first concert consisted of works written specifically for brass quintet.   Since then, they have performed diverse styles of music in programs such as Four Centuries of Golden Brass, On the Promenade, Music for Organ and Brass and The Brass Quintet in the 20th Century.

As one of several chamber ensembles at the U.S. Military Academy, the group performs throughout the year at official military functions and presents concerts for church, school and civic groups in the tri-state region.  In March of 1993, the Regimental Brass performed for the Ninth Presidential Conference on the Ronald Reagan Presidency at Hofstra University and in May of 1994 was featured at the Bergen County, New Jersey Teen Arts Festival.  Their first appearance West of the Mississippi River occurred in 1999 when they performed at the Kansas Music Educators Conference in Wichita, Kansas.  In February of 2000, they performed at the University of Minnesota, Gustavus Adolphus, St. Olaf, and Bemidji St. University in Minnesota.

Upon hearing the regimental Brass at a park dedication sponsored by the National Maritime Historical Society, Berchanal Green, the coordinator wrote, "what the setting called for was music - wonderful music - and they provided that."

Though they usually perform as a quintet, the group periodically adds or subtracts musicians allowing them to perform music of diverse instrumentation.
