Lieutenant General, U.S. Army
Superintendent
United States Military Academy
West Point, New York 10996
U.S.A.
Dear
I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of the Canadian Army, to send our
congratulations to the U.S. Military Academy on its bicentennial anniversary.
For two centuries, West Point graduates have reached the highest ranks of the U.S. Army
and have distinguished themselves on the battlefield. Since its establishment in 1802,
through many conflicts, and against to the current demands of modern warfare, the
Academy has adapted and remains a vibrant institution. It continues to produce leaders
who meet the highest performance standards.
I have served with West Point graduates on numerous occasions and have consistently
found them to be committed, outstanding officers. Citizens of the United States can be
proud of the Academy and can rest assured that it continues to attract the best and the
brightest young men and women who will be there when called upon to serve their
country.
As our closest ally, it is certainly evident today that we share the values and sense of
responsibility the Academy instils in its soldiers - Army officers who are truly dedicated
to "Duty, Honour, Country". It is my pleasure to wish all graduates, professors and
leaders, past and present, continued success for another 200 years.
Yours sincerely, |
