The Army Benefits Center has come up with a new Point of Entry module designed to make it easier for people to access the Web-based Employee Benefits Information System.
Previously, users had to have a user identification number to access EBIS. With this new module, existing EBIS users now enter their Social Security number to gain access.
"This simply eliminates the need for users to have to remember one more user ID," said Michael Heller, the U.S. Military Academys civilian personnel director. "Its much easier for people to have to remember their Social Security numbers."
Users will still have to remember their passwords, but they can now change them online without having to call ABC-C or the help desk.
New users still need to create a Point of Entry account and should have the following information available:

The password cannot contain any portion of the users Social Security number and must include 3 of the following characters: An upper or lower case letter, a number or a special character.
"Overall the changes should allow easier access to EBIS," Heller said.
