TRICARE Plus to be offered; briefing scheduled to introduce program

Are you an active-duty family member whose medical conditions make TRICARE Standard the only viable choice for civilian medical care? Would the ability to enroll with a primary care manager at Keller Army Community Hospital help you?

If so, an upcoming program called TRICARE Plus may be right for you.

Under TRICARE Plus, any military health system beneficiary who is not already enrolled in an HMO (including TRICARE Prime) may enroll with a KACH PCM. TRICARE Plus enrollees would have the same primary care access standards as TRICARE Prime enrollees.

If a primary care appointment is not available within seven days, TRICARE Plus enrollees may choose to go to a civilian TRICARE authorized providers. TRICARE Plus enrollees would continue to direct all their civilian medical care and their TRICARE Standard and Extra benefits would pay for that care.

Find out if TRICARE Plus is for you by attending a briefing for active-duty family members or their sponsors Sept. 11 in the second-floor classroom at KACH. Back-to-back briefings will be held at 3 and 3:45 p.m. You can visit or call the KACH health benefits advisors (938-4838) to request a TRICARE Plus fact sheet.
