Overview

The USMA ITAM Program provides Army range officers with the capability to manage and maintain training and testing land by integrating mission requirements with environmental requirements and sound land management practices. The purpose of the Army's ITAM program is to achieve optimum sustainable use of training lands by implementing a uniform land management program that includes:

  1. Range and Training Land Assessment (RTLA) - Assessing land quality, monitoring land conditions, and recommending land rehabilitation options.
  2. Training Requirements Integration (TRI) - Integrating training and testing requirements with training land carrying capacity.
  3. Sustainable Range Awareness (SRA) - Educating land users to minimize adverse impacts.
  4. Land Rehabilitation and Maintenance (LRAM) - Rehabilitating and maintaining training land.

ITAM also maintains a GIS capability, which provides standard mapping and spatial analysis capabilities that support the ITAM Program components

Army Regulation 350-19 dictates the responsibilities of the USMA ITAM Program and provides its guidance and policy.
