Pet Pointers

A weekly pet tip or other bit of information
from Capt. Felicia D. Langel, USMA Veterinarian 938-3817

Using the Vet Clinic

The West Point Vet Clinic is open to all military members, active duty and retired. Hours are Monday-Fridays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The clinic is located at 630 Hodges Place adjacent to Buffalo Soldier Field. If you have recently arrived at West Point, it is required that pets be registered within 10 days. To do so, stop by the clinic with your pet’s medical records. New records will be created and your pet will be assigned a West Point rabies tag which is also an automatic registration in Orange County and New York State for on-post residents.

In accordance with post regulations, all dogs and cats residing on West Point must be current on rabies and distemper. Heartworm preventative, flea/tick medication and microchipping are also recommended, but not required. For more information, call the clinic staff at 938-3817.
