Gift cards one of new items at local commissaries

FORT LEE, Va. -- New at your commissary, the Commissary Gift Card is the perfect way to give a gift to service members for any occasion. The new car looks like a credit card and is available in $25 and $100 amounts.

In addition to gifts, the cards may be used for charitable donations to organizations such as the chaplains’ relief fund, door prizes at parties and gifts to parents and children. Only authorized patrons may redeem these gift cards in the commissary.

Initially, the cards will be redeemable only at the commissary that issued the card. Eventually, the cards will be accepted by most commissaries regardless of their purchase location.
