DID YOU KNOW THAT...

... beneficiaries who lose TRICARE eligibility are eligible for temporary health care coverage under the Continued Health Care Benefit Program? There is a premium to pay and you must enroll within 60 days of losing your military health care benefits. For more information, visit the Web site at www.tricare.ods.mil/chcbp or call the health benefits advisors at 845-938-4838.

...beneficiaries who need assistance disposing of used needles can get it at the KACH emergency room? The ER will accept used sharps however do not leave them on the back loading dock or anywhere else in the hospital except the ER. Whenever possible, call ahead to 938-4004 to tell the staff you would like to drop them off. Use a puncture-proof plastic container with a tight-fitting screw top. A plastic soda bottle or bleach bottle is a good example. Don’t use glass because it may break. Coffee cans are not receommended becase the plastic lids come off too easily. For more information, call the KACH safety officer at 938-6307.

. . .KACH will be closed Feb. 18. All outpatient clinics, including pharmacy, pathology and radiology will be closed. The emergency room remains open.
