IRS responds to customers' needs

IRS services are not only free, but are now more convenient to use. Taxpayers will now have faster access because the IRS is matching toll-free assistance to the busiest times. As a result, Professional Customer Service Representatives are available to answer questions and help with your 2001 tax returns:

- Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

- Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through April 15

- President’s Day, Feb. 18, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

- Sunday, April 7 and 14 (hours to be announced)

All times are local; Alaska and Hawaii: Pacific Time.

The IRS automated assistance system will continue to be available 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
