JLOC offers college scholarship

GOSHEN, N.Y. -- As part of its ongoing commitment to enrich the local community through the advancement of women and children, the Junior League of Orange County is pleased to offer a $1,000 college scholarship.

Any woman over the age of 21 returning to college on a full- or part-time basis, who is a resident of the county, and who has served as a volunteer with children and/or women, is eligible for the one-time scholarship. The scholarship is intended to honor women who are helping themselves through education. It is the fifth consecutive year that the JLOC is offering this type of financial assistance.

Scholarship applications are available at Marist College (main campus in Poughkeepsie and in Goshen), SUNY New Paltz, Mount St. Mary College (main campus in Newburgh and at West Point), and Orange County Community College (main campus in Middletown and at the extension center in Newburgh). Applicants can attend school outside of Orange County. The deadline for applications to be submitted is April 15. The winner will be announced at the JLOC’s annual dinner and awards ceremony in early June.

Applications can also be obtained by calling the JLOC at (845) 344-8554
