opportunities
Morgan Farm boards horses, has trail rides (with or without guides), riding
lessons and summer horseback riding camps. The following are summer camp
sessions: June 24-June 28 – Beginning/Intermediate English Camp; July 1-3 –
Beginner Mini-Camp (English), July 8-12 – Beginner Western Camp; July 15-19
– Beginner English Camp; July 22-26 – Beginner/Intermediate Western Camp;

Hours for Civilian ID
Badges
New hours for civilians to get ID badges went into effect Monday. The new hours
are:
Monday and Tuesday -- 8 to 11:30 a.m., 12:30 to 4 p.m.
CLOSED WEDNESDAY
Thursday and Friday -- 8 to 11:30 a.m., 12:30 to 4 p.m.

Mount Saint Mary
College Summer I Registration
Mount Saint Mary College is currently enrolling students for the Summer I
Session. To register for classes drop by our office at the Education Center.
Active Duty soldiers must have their completed tuition assistance forms submitted to the Education Center by the end of our Add/Drop period, May 22. Summer II Schedules can be picked up at our office. The following are some of the summer schedules:
Mon./Wed., 6 to 9:20 p.m. -- Intermediate Acct. 1, Intro. to Philosophy, Public Speaking, Spanish I, Intro to the Old Testament.
Tues./Thurs., 6 to 9:20 p.m. -- Earth Science, Social Institutions, Web Page Design, Production Systems Management, College Writing.

Cadet auto service
The West Point Automotive Skills Center is offering a Cadet Auto Service Class
May 8, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Bring your car to class and learn how to keep it in tiptop
running condition. The $25 fee for the class includes an oil change. Call

Lake Frederick
Need an exclusive, private getaway with a view that’s breathtaking?
Reservations are now being accepted at CRD/ITR, 938-4455, for A-frame rentals
and private parties.
Kids’ Fishing Derby
Outdoor Recreation and the West Point Bass Club are holding this year’s Kids’
Fishing Derby May 18, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Clinics are 9 to 11 a.m. with fishing
until 3 p.m.; prize drawings every hour. Fee is $2 per youth. Contest is open to
anglers ages 5-15 who are residents of West Point, Stewart or the Town of
Highlands or who have a parent working at USMA. Registration starts May 1. Call

Teen summer volunteers
Registration for School-Age Services Summer Camp Teen Counselor volunteers is
ongoing from until May 15. Teens, ages 13-18, who are interested in volunteering
should call Jim Bennett at Youth Services, 938-8379.

Cultural Adaptation Class
ACS is offering free support classes for foreign-born spouses including English
as a second language, Army life and culture, educational resources, and other
helpful adjustment skills. Classes are held on the second and fourth Thursdays
of each month from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Bldg. 622. For more information, call

Scuba lessons back on
the schedule
The Outdoor Recreation Swim Office is again offering scuba lessons by certified
divers/instructors from the West Point Fire Department and the swim staff. Call
938-5139/5158 for details, fees and equipment information.
Prepare to swim
Season swim passes go on sale May 13 at the CRD/ITR Office, Bldg. 695, from 9
a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and will be offered at a 10 percent discount through May
24. Round Pond opens for swimming on Memorial Day and Delafield Pond is
scheduled to open June 2. Once they open, you will also be able to buy your
season passes at the swimming facilities during their normal hours of operation.
Note: Credit cards are only accepted at ITR, not at the swim areas.
CRD Intramural Softball
League
The CRD Sports Office will conduct a summer softball league open to all USMA
Staff and Faculty. Teams interested in entering into the league, please call Jim
McGuinness at 938-3066 or 2911.
Deadline for entries is May 15, the league will start June 3 and end in early August. Games are played Mon.-Thurs., 5, 6 and 7 p.m. at Buffalo Soldiers Field.
Organ recital
Organist John Weaver will perform at the Cadet Chapel, Sunday, 3 p.m. This
recital is funded by the Class of 1936 Distinguished Organists Series. Weaver is
the Chair of the Organ Department at Juilliard and head of the Organ Department
at the Curtis Institute of Music.
Craft Fair
There will be a Craft Fair at the WPES, May 11, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Crafters
needed, but space is limited. Please call 446-3013 today. Vendor fees donated to
WPES Nature Trail.
West Point Tattoo
The U.S. Military Academy will host the 23rd annual Tattoo Sunday, 1 to 6 p.m.
at the Trophy Point Amphitheater.
The event will feature 20 pipe and drum bands from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania.
The event is open to the public; attendees over the age of 12 will be required to present photo ID and go through security checkpoints. All coolers, backpacks and packages will be searched. Everyone is advised to arrive early.
Step Aerobics at MWR
Get ready for summer at the MWR Fitness Center with a great cardio and toning
workout. Step classes are Tuesday and Friday, 6 to 6:45 a.m. and Saturdays, 8 to
8:45 a.m. First class is free. Call Sunny Reed at 446-1554 for information.
