Glee Club set to perform
WEST POINT -- The Cadet Glee Club of the U.S. Military Academy, under the direction of Constance Chase, will present its annual Graduation Concert Tuesday, 7:30 p.m., in the Eisenhower Hall Theatre.
The Graduation Concert is a highlight of the Glee Club’s concert season, showcasing the Glee Club and the graduating cadets and celebrating a successful year.
This concert will be broadcast live with host Tom Michaels on 1260 A.M. WBNR, 1420 A.M. WLNA radio and at www.TheSoundoftheValley.com.
The following are some of performance that will be featured at this year’s graduation concert:
The Women’s Ensemble will perform Gloria in Excelsis Deo by contemporary American composer, Jackson Berkey.
The Men’s Ensemble will sing the well-known Soldiers’ Chorus from the opera Faust, by French composer Charles Gounod.
Tenor Francis Brink singing Maria from the Broadway show, West Side Story.
Sopranos Josephine Holmon and Mary Byrne will perform the well-known Flower Duet, from Delibes’ opera Lakme.
Tenor Andrew Betson will sing the showstopper This is the Moment from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jekyll and Hyde.
The Firsties and the a cappella group, The Wongs, will also perform favorite selections.
The concert’s finale will feature the patriotic and military selections for which the Glee Club is renowned.
The public is cordially invited to attend this concert, free of admission.
