Public Works 'Poop'

All DHPW construction activities, whether they are contractor or in-house work, require restoration of the site and staging areas to its original condition.

The timing as to when the restoration will occur varies from project to project and site to site. At times it is advantageous for contractors or DHPW work crews to accomplish all site restoration work at the conclusion of the total project. This often requires sites to remain un-restored for a sustained period of time.

Community members and residents who notice a site has not been restored should notify the DHPW Customer Relations Representative, 938-4407.

Recycle moving boxes
Empty moving boxes and packing paper may be recycled. Boxes should be broken down and, along with the packing paper, placed in a box for pick up at the curb or trash collection site.

The Solid Waste Management Branch picks up on Wednesdays. When ready, call 938-4074 to schedule a pick up.

The box recycling is a part of USMA’s Recycling Program. For more information call John Dopler at 938-4281.

Yard waste collection
Residents are reminded that yard debris
must not be put with regular household trash. All organic debris such as leaves, grass clippings, and weeds must be placed in biodegradable bags and left at your solid waste collection point for the contractor to pick up. Branches must be bundled and tied.

For more information contact the DHPW Customer Relations office at 938-4407.
