With Tuesday’s thunderstorms regular season play was postponed until Wednesday with playoff action slated to kick off Thursday.

Two playoff series in the North Division were decided as of Tuesday.

The Directorate of Intercollegiate Athletics clinched the North by holding off Behavioral Sciences and Leadership Monday 7-1 coupled with Math’s 12-0 whitewash of a short-handed Department of Physical Education squad the same night.

Top-seeded DIA was scheduled to face eighth-seeded English Thursday in the first two games of their best two-out-of-three series.

The other series that was locked in was second-seeded Math versus seventh-seeded History, which at press time was to begin Monday.

The only other two series were still in doubt as Social Sciences could still move up to third place if they beat DPE by four or more runs in their make-up game. SOSH could also move up to third if DPE lost to English in their final regular season make-up.

South Division action is even more wide open as the only spot nailed down at presstime was the Band, who finally clinched first-place when MEDDAC was shutout by the red-hot Military Police Monday 10-0.

The MPs, who have won eight of their last nine games after beginning the season 0-4, slid into second place with the win, and they still have one game remaining.

The Mint improved their lot with a 5-4 win over the Directorate of Logistics Monday to get to 7-5 and further logjam the South Division race for second place.

Headquarters and Headquarters Company fell to 7-6 with an 8-3 loss to DOL Monday.

The Directorate of Community and Family Activities stands at 6-6 and could jump several teams if they can win their final two games.

All playoff series will be a best two-of-three game format with the first two games on the same night and the "if" game to be played at the earliest date afterwards.

The playoff champions of each division will square off for the post title.

The Military Police’s Craig Meeks (above) and MEDDAC’s Andrew Harshbarger (above right) lead their perspective teams into the Staff and Faculty Intramural softball league’s second season. As of Tuesday, the MPs were second in the South Division at 8-5, while MEDDAC trailed by only a half game at 7-5.
