Buffalo Soldier Memorial Ceremony
West Point will host the 40th annual Buffalo Soldier Memorial Ceremony at Buffalo Soldier Field Sept. 1 at 12:15 p.m.
The ceremony will honor the 9th and 10th Cavalry Regiments of the Buffalo Soldiers. These black soldiers have a proud tradition of exemplary service to the nation in the Indian wars, Spanish-American War, both World Wars and the Korean War.
The guest speaker for the event is Brig. Gen. Leo A. Brooks Jr., commandant of Cadets, United States Corps of Cadets.
The public is invited to join the Buffalo Soldiers and their families for the ceremony.
