Drozdowski named West Point Elementary School principal
Drozdowski
is the principal at Wuerzburg Elementary School, in the Bavarian District of
DoDDS-Europe. He will report to the U.S. Military Academy next month.
“We
are pleased that Ed is taking the reins of West Point Elementary School,” said
Lawanna Mangleburg, the Virginia-New York superintendent of schools.
Originally
from Pensacola, Fla., Drozdowski has been in education for 37 years, both as a
teacher and an administrator. During his 35-year career with DoDEA he taught
every grade level from kindergarten through grade 12. Drozdowski also coached
football, basketball and volleyball. He served in Japan, Korea, Okinawa,
Germany, Italy and England and was selected as the 1997 DoDDS Distinguished
Principal of the Year.
Drozdowski earned his bachelor’s degree from Westfield State College in 1967 and his master’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He and his wife, Deborah, who is also a teacher with DoDEA, have three children: two sons in college and a daughter in high school.
