Cool temps, warm reception greet Rumsfeld
Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld gave the commencement address Saturday to 935 West Point firsties and thousands of family, friends and spectators at Michie Stadium here.

Amazing Grace
Four years ago Grace Chung arrived at the U.S. Military Academy from Congers, N.Y. She eventually became West Point’s Cadet First Captain. Her experiences here, good and bad, Chung said, helped strengthen her goals toward a lifetime’s worth of achievements.    

Point firefighter wins award
The Northeastern Regional Office of Fire and Emergency Services announced recently it has selected West Point firefighter and training officer, Chris Reed, as Fire Officer of the Year. This is the first award for the fire department. 

Drozdowski named West Point Elementary School principal
Dr. Elaine B. Hinman, director of DoD’s Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools announced Tuesday that she has named Ed Drozdowski as the new principal of West Point Elementary School .      

 Army develops policy to address acts of sexual assault
The Army is devising a policy that will reemphasize that all offenses of sexual assault must be reported to the Criminal Investigation Command, officials have announced.
