A warm reception 
Heat, humidity and more than 250 upperclass cadets greeted 1,251 of the nation’s best and brightest Monday as they lined up outside Eisenhower Hall here for Reception Day 2005.

Combat vet set to tackle West Point
One hundred eighty-five cadet candidates arrived here Monday from the U.S. Military Academy Preparatory School at Fort Monmouth , N.J. , to take part in Reception Day for the Class of 2009. Of the 185 new cadets from USMAPS, 19 are combat veterans of Afghanistan, Iraq or both.

Football prepster 
John Plumstead of Honor, Mich., grew up a Detroit Lions fan and is well-aware of Ross, who was once head coach of the Lions from 1997 to 2000. 

Academy officials break ground on new library complex
Shovels dug deep into the earth Friday to celebrate the long-awaited start to the Jefferson Hall Library/Learning Center at West Point.

R-Day Rehearsal
New cadets were not the only ones to experience Reception Day at the U.S. Military Academy as approximately 350 civilians, retirees and others became cadets for a day by participating in an R-Day rehearsal June 24.  

Academy looking for a few good liaisons
The admissions office is looking for a few good Military Academy Liaison Officers, also known as MALOs. These officers help future cadets get through the admissions process.
