The orientation of newly assigned personnel will begin at 8:30
a.m. Tuesday with a morning briefing in South Auditorium, Thayer Hall. USMA major activity
directors will present the briefing. It is designed to familiarize new personnel and their
spouses with the mission of USMA.
The community fair is Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Eisenhower Hall. Representatives from various agencies will be on hand to distribute information and answer questions.
The superintendents address to newly arrived personnel will be held at 7 p.m., also in Eisenhower Hall. The address will be followed by a question-and-answer period. Attendance is mandatory for all newly assigned personnel and their spouses.
Thursday, the Department of Military Instruction and the Office of the Commandant will present an orientation of summer training from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a West Point Fortifications Tour both Wednesday and Friday with a maximum of 100 participants each day.
There will be a reception given by Lt. Gen. Daniel W. Christman and his wife Aug. 18 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. (5 to 6:30 for the Deans office) in the garden of Quarters 100.
