DEPARTMENT OF LAW’s ROBERT GOLDSTEIN RECEIVES EPA AWARD – April 28, 2008
WEST POINT, N.Y. – Professor Robert Goldstein, the Graduates Chair in Constitutional and Military Law for the Department of Law, received a 2008 U.S. EPA Environmental Quality Award at a ceremony in New York City April 25.
As general counsel for Riverkeeper, Inc., of Tarrytown, N.Y., Goldstein has led the organization’s legal team in protecting the Hudson River Estuary, the New York City drinking watershed, and the watershed of the Hudson. At Riverkeeper, he is also Director of Enforcement Programs and handles the Hudson River Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) Superfund Site for the organization. He is a member of the Community Advisory Group and is involved with the community of Fort Edward in dealing with the pollution from the adjacent General Electric Co. plants. As a professor here he is teaching their first course on Global Climate Change & Environmental Law.

The Environmental Quality Award is the highest recognition presented to the public by the EPA. Award recipients come from all sectors of our community, including non-profit, environmental and community groups, individual citizens, environmental education and business organizations and members of the news media.
