WEST POINT BOARD OF VISITORS – Feb. 22, 2008

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Board of Visitors of the U.S. Military Academy will meet Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 1 p.m. in the Rayburn House Office Building, Washington, D.C. The Board will review and receive updates on the academic, physical, military programs, physical equipment and fiscal affairs.

The Board of Visitors is appointed under the provision of Section 4355 of Title 10, United States Code. It is the duty of the Board to inquire about the Academy’s morale and discipline, curriculum, instructions, physical equipment, fiscal affairs and academic methods. The board consists of presidential appointees and members of Congress.

Presidential appointees are Honorable Samuel Lessey Jr., Ms. Rebecca Contreras, Dr. Charles Younger, Mr. John Rainey, Mr. William Strong and Mr. Blake Hall. The senators are Jack Reed, Kay Bailey Hutchison, Susan Collins and Mary Landrieu. Representatives include John McHugh, Maurice Hinchey, Todd Tiahrt, Jim Marshall and John Hall.
