WEST POINT CADET NAMED TRUMAN SCHOLAR – March 27, 2009
She is one of 60 students from 55 U.S. colleges and universities to be selected for the prestigious scholarship and will have the opportunity to further her education with a scholarship valued at approximately $30,000 for two years at any accredited university in the world.
Rosenberg, a Sociology major, plans to earn a Master in Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health, Cambridge, Mass.
The Truman Scholarship Foundation was established by Congress in 1975 as the federal memorial to our 33rd President. The Foundation awards scholarships for college students to attend graduate school in preparation for careers in government or elsewhere in public service. The activities of the Foundation are supported by a special trust fund in the U.S. Treasury. There have been 2670 Truman Scholars elected since the first awards were made in 1977.
West Point cadets have earned 27 Truman Scholarships since first competing in 1992.
