26th ANNUAL ARMY CYCLING CLASSIC – March 31, 2009

WEST POINT, N.Y. –The U.S. Military Academy Cycling team will host the 26th annual Army Spring Classic Saturday and Sunday here.  Saturday will include a circuit race and team time trial at Camp Buckner.  Roads in and out of Camp Buckner, including Route 293 will have cyclists on them from approximately 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

Sunday, there will be an individual time trial/hill climb and criterium time trial races around Shea Stadium and North Athletic Field. 

The individual hill climb time trial races begin at Shea Stadium and will race up to Stony Lonesome road to the intersection of Stony Lonesome and Continental roads then past the Child Development Center to the back of the Ski Slope from 7:45 to 9:15 a.m.

The one-kilometer long critierium is slated to begin at 10 a.m.

There are no entrance fees for spectators. All attendees will need to bring valid photo identification to enter West Point. Visitors should use either Stony Lonesome or Thayer Gates.
