WEST POINT DIVERSITY LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE – April 07, 2009

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The U.S. Military Academy in partnership with the West Point Association of Graduates held the 10th annual West Point Diversity Leadership Conference April 2 -4.  

This year’s conference theme was “Building a Culture of Diversity and Inclusion” which focused on the principles, practices and accomplishments of successful diversity and inclusion efforts within the private, government and academia arenas.

“This conference was a unique opportunity for diversity experts from both the military and civilian sectors to share innovations and ideas,” said Col. Bryan Goda, who was the West Point chair for the conference. 

On Friday, April 3, guest speakers included Gen. Kip Ward, U.S. Africa Command and Ms. Barbara Frankel, Senior Vice President and Executive Editor, DiversityInc.  Additionally, there were panel discussions on Business Case; Leader Commitment; Return on Investment and Accountability; and on Innovations; Employee Networks; Talent Management; and Communications and Training.
