WEST POINT BOARD OF VISITORS TO MEET IN D.C. -- May 9, 2008

WEST POINT, N.Y. -- The Board of Visitors of the U.S. Military Academy will meet Wednesday, May 14, at 1 p.m. in the Senate Russell Office Building (Room 483), Washington D.C.  The Board will review and receive updates on the academic, physical, military programs, physical equipment and fiscal affairs.

            The Board of Visitors is appointed under the provision of Section 4355 of Title 10, United States Code.  It is the duty of the Board to inquire about the Academy’s morale and discipline, curriculum, instructions, physical equipment, fiscal affairs and academic methods.  The board consists of presidential appointees and members of Congress.

            Presidential appointees are Honorable Samuel Lessey Jr., Dr. Charles Younger, Mr. John Rainey, Mr. William Strong, Mr. Blake Hall, and Mrs. Karen Hughes.  The senators are Honorable Jack Reed, Honorable Kay Bailey Hutchison, Honorable Susan Collins and Honorable Mary Landrieu.  Representatives are Honorable John McHugh, Honorable Maurice Hinchey, Honorable Todd Tiahrt, Honorable Jim Marshall and Honorable John Hall.
