WEST POINT EARNS TOP ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT HONOR -- Nov. 16, 2007

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The American Society for Engineering Management awarded

the U.S. Military Academy the Founders Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Engineering Management Education for 2007 during their annual meeting in Chattanooga, Tenn., last week.

Engineering Management examines the engineering relationships between the management tasks of staffing, organizing, planning, financing, and the human element involved in production, research, and service, said Lt. Col. Donna Korycinski, Program Manager for Engineering Management in the System Engineering Department.

The American Society for Engineering Management was founded in 1979 by a group of 20 visionary engineering managers from industry, education, and government who recognized that a flattening world meant an increasingly complex and technically based society.

This is the third year the academy has earned this honor.
