SPRING BOOK CEREMONY– April 21, 2009

WEST POINT, N.Y. –The U.S. Military Academy will host its first Spring Book Ceremony on Tuesday, April 28, at 4 p.m. in Jefferson Hall. 

The purpose of the ceremony is to celebrate scholarship, recognize the world-class work of our faculty, and emphasize how central scholarship and publishing is to the teaching mission of West Point. 

The ceremony will honor nine faculty members who have recently published work including Elizabeth Samet, Soldier’s Heart Reading Literature through Peace and War at West Point; James J.F. Forest, Countering Terrorism and Insurgency in the 21st Century: International Perspectives; and Isaiah Wilson III, Thinking Beyond War: Civil-Military Relations and Why America Fails to Win the Peace. 

The event is open to the public and all visitors should enter through Thayer or Stony Lonesome gates.  Proper identification will be required upon entering academy grounds and all vehicles are subject to search.
