BOV TO MEET IN WASHINGTON, D.C. – April 29, 2009

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Board of Visitors of the U.S. Military Academy will meet Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 2 p.m. in room 485 of the Russell Senate Office Building, Washington D.C.  The Board will review and receive updates on the academic, physical, military programs, physical equipment and fiscal affairs.

The Board of Visitors is appointed under the provision of Section 4355 of Title 10, United States Code.  It is the duty of the Board to inquire about the Academy’s morale and discipline, curriculum, instruction, physical equipment, fiscal affairs and academic methods.  The board consists of presidential appointees and members of Congress.

Presidential appointees are Mr. John S. Rainey, Dr. Charles Younger, Mr. Blake G. Hall, Ms. Karen Hughes, Mr. Frederick Malek and Mr. Randolph Brock III.  The senators are Honorable Kay Bailey Hutchison, Honorable Jack Reed, and Honorable Mary Landrieu.  Representatives include Honorable John McHugh, Honorable Maurice Hinchey, Honorable Todd Tiahrt, Honorable Jim Marshall and Honorable John Hall.
