WEST POINT CLIMBING TEAM PLACES FOURTH AT NATIONALS – May 29, 2009
WEST POINT, N.Y. –The West Point Climbing team placed fourth at the National Collegiate Climbing Competition in Austin, Texas, held May 23-24.
The competition included 16 teams from across the nation. West Point concluded its first year competing under the USA Climbing banner and marked the team’s first national-level tournament.
Cadet Scott Mead, Class of 2012, placed seventh overall in the men’s division, while Cadets Chuck Baldinger and Mark Fryt, both in the Class of 2011, placed 18 and 21 respectively.
In the women’s division, Cadet Christina Veney, Class of 2011, placed tenth and Megan Reid, Class of 2010, placed 13.
