BOARD OF VISITORS TO MEET AT WEST POINT – July 31, 2009
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Board of Visitors of the U.S. Military Academy will meet Friday, Aug. 7, at 8:30 a.m. in the Superintendent’s Conference Room, Taylor Hall, Bldg. 600, to review and receive updates on the academic, physical, military programs, physical equipment and fiscal affairs.
The Board of Visitors is appointed under the provision of Section 4355 of Title 10, United States Code. It is the duty of the board to inquire about the academy’s morale and discipline, curriculum, instructions, physical equipment, fiscal affairs and academic methods. The board consists of presidential appointees and members of Congress.
Presidential appointees are John S. Rainey; Dr. Charles Younger; Blake G. Hall; Karen Hughes; Frederick Malek and Randolph Brock III. The senators are Kay Bailey Hutchison; Jack Reed; Mary Landrieu and Richard M. Burr. Representatives include John McHugh; Maurice Hinchey; Todd Tiahrt; Jim Marshall and John Hall.
