USMA COMMEMORATES 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF VIETNAM – Oct. 17, 2007

WEST POINT, N.Y. – As part of a congressional initiative, the U.S. Military Academy will conduct a wreath-laying ceremony to honor Captain Harry G. Cramer, Class of 1946, and to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam conflict, Sunday, 2 p.m. at the West Point Cemetery. The public is invited to attend. Cramer was the first combat-related death during the Vietnam conflict. This event is the first of a series of wreath-laying ceremonies to be conducted by selected installations across the Department of the Army to pay tribute to American military soldiers for their sacrifices made during this era.
