Return to the "POINTER VIEW"
June 8, 2001
Straight From the Heart, a magazine for men, women and teens that offers reading and writing advice and opinions, fun and contests and focuses on caring and compassion, is seeking submissions from military personnel and families for the July issue.
Through June 25, the magazine will be taking submissions from or about military members and in July, those selected will be published to share with readers around the world. It is an effort to share with others what life is like through the eyes of those who sacrifice their personal comfort and freedom to guarantee a safer world for the rest of us and to hear from those who appreciate them most.
Military men and women enjoy few tangible rewards but daily earn respect and gratitude by virtue of their commitment. This is the opportunity to thank someone or share your personal observations through the magazines pages. If there is someone special who should see your message, the staff will send them an e-mail invitation to read the magazine.
Submissions from and about military members are encouraged. Those of you serving now can use this opportunity to thank your loved ones for the sacrifices they also make by being a part of your life. Sons, daughters and friends who understand that this commitment to freedom takes a special kind of person are asked to share their thoughts.
All submissions will be read and considered for publication. Keep stories, letters and observations to 1000 words or less and paste them into a plain e-mail without attachments to
