GOSPEL CHOIR
Cadets performed at the Church of Saint John The Evangelist, in Mahopac, NY and represented the Academy well. They even held a Q&A session in order to facilitate more information gathering for individuals who wanted to know more about the Academy and the cadets daily activities. It was a definite win for the choir and the community.
SCOUT DAY
The Scoutmasters Council (SMC) Cadet Officers on Scout Day pose with a parachute jumped by the Parachute Team. The SMC works heavily with other Clubs to integrate their members into helping with and working with scouts. This provides the labor for SMC events and provides other clubs the same opportunities to work with the public.
SAILING PLACES 3RD
The Army sailing team traveled to Penn State to participate in the Nittany Lion Open at Prince Gallatin State Park. The Army team placed 3rd out of 6 teams, beating Penn State, Ocean County College, and American University.
BIKE CLUB WINS CHAMPIONSHIP
The Army cycling team rides during their ‘victory lap’ around post Tuesday to celebrate their 2007 Division 2 U.S. National Collegiate Track Cycling Championship won in San Diego Sept. 14-17. ARMY OUTSAILS NAVY
Army defeated Navy in the 2007 Spirit Rider Regatta held in Long Beach, NY Sept. 7-9. The regatta, sponsored by the Corinthians Sailing Association for Collegiate Sailing and the O'Keefe Foundation, was held in honor of all of those who paid the ultimate price on Sept. 11, 2001. The Army will face Navy again in the Storm Trysail Club's Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta Oct. 6-7.
COMBAT CLASSIC
The Cadets of the West Point Paintball Club held there Bi-Annual Paintball Fundraiser this past weekend. Nicknamed the “Big Game”, it draws civilian paintball players from around the North East and elsewhere. One hundred and sixty eight players took the field as either Russian or NATO forces to play out a hypothetical Russian invasion of Europe. The Cadets wrote the scenario and sent in missions to the opposing “Generals” that, when completed, counted for points toward victory. The cadets refereed the event and their skill in enforcing fair play is known thorough out the paintball community.
GLEE CLUB AT FT. MONMOUTH
The concert at Ft. Monmouth to cap the Glee Club/Strings team building. To Officer in Charge’s knowledge, the joint performance of “Mansions of the Lord” marked the first time the Glee Club was accompanied by a cadet instrumental group.
NATIONAL COLLEGIATE PAINTBALL TOURNAMENT
Cadet Andrew Boza shows total concentration as he locks down a lane in Paintball Games International Magazine. Army Paintball was competing at the National Collegiate Paintball Association’s (NCPA) Huntington Beach California event in March 2007. The NCPA piggybacked the National Professional Paintball Players League (NPPL) tournament which drew 230 teams from across the country and an estimated 100,000 spectators over the course of the weekend. The Black Knights played amazing all day but missed the Finals by only 9 points (eliminating an opposing player counts for 3 points each).

ARMY'S TRIATHLON NATIONAL CHAMPION
Army sophomore track standout Ashley Morgan was crowned national champion at the USA Triathlon National Age Group Championship Festival after winning the women’s 19-and-under division last Saturday at Hagg Lake in Portland, Ore.
Morgan finished 69th out of 475 women in the field in 2 hours, 23 minutes and 43 seconds on a course made up of a 1.5 kilometer (0.93 mile) swim, a 40 kilometer (24.9 miles) bike and a 10 kilometer (6.2 miles) run. Finishing the swim in eighth place (26:49) in her division, she blew away the field with the top times in the bike (1:11:54) and run (42:34) to finish 1:42 ahead of her nearest competitor.

ARMY BOXING - USA EASTERN TRIALS

Cadet Mike Benedosso, '07, the 2007 Collegiate National Champion, fought at the elite USA Boxing Eastern Trials in Cocoa, Florida, on 11-12 May 07. Winners at this tournament qualify for the USA National Championships, the sole qualifier for the 2008 Olympic Trials.
GRAY GLORY
The USMA Concrete Canoe team gathers behind the 2007 canoe 'Gray Glory' before the Regional Concrete Canoe Competition at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. on April 14. Cadet Andy Stockhoff claimed first place and classmate Dan Hyde earned second place in the Mead Ethics Contest, which was also held at Cornell. 2007 NATIONAL CHAMPS
The West Point Model Arab League won outstanding delegation in the National University Model Arab League Conference sponsored by the National Council for U.S. Arab Relations held in Washington, D.C., March 29-April 1. The team is celebrating both its first national title and seventh title since its creation in 2004. The team will compete this November in the Cairo International Model Arab League Conference held in Cairo, Egypt marking its first international competition. (Photo provided)
TAEKWONDO NATIONALS
USMA Taekwondo team captain, Cadet Nick Salinas, competes in 'sudden death overtime' during the Collegiate National Taekwondo Championship hosted by Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas on March 31. Thirteen cadets competed earning a total of eight medals while demonstrating their warrior spirit against a field of elite college fighters from around the nation. KOSCIUSZKO SQUADRON
Cadets Matthew Romanowski and Stephen Astemborski, members of the Kosciuszko Squadron, also known as the Polish Language Club, perform spring cleaning around the Kosciuszko garden site. The clean up is in preparation for the annual Tadeusz Kosciuszko Observance, Saturday, April 21. The Catholic Chapel of the Most Holy Trinity will hold a Mass at 9:45 a.m., followed by a Cadet review on The Plain and ceremony at the Kosciuszko Monument overlooking the Hudson River.
