The West Point String Ensemble is a club designed for cadets with talent and experience playing stringed instruments (violin, viola, cello and double bass violin) to share their musical passion. Smaller groups (quartets) perform locally for Academy functions 10-12 times each year. Recently, the club has hired Ms. Ellen Gartner Phillips (viola) to conduct weekly rehearsals and the entire chamber group will now perform one or two yearly concerts at West Point under her direction.
