
1SG Patrick D. Dixon was born in Flint, Michigan on March 7, 1972. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army on August 15, 1990 and attended Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia.
1SG Dixon has held numerous assignments and positions including: Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV) driver and BFV Gunner in D Co. 5 th Battalion, 15 th Infantry From January 1991 until December 1992 in Schweinfurt, Germany; BFV Gunner in A Co. 1 st Battalion, 16 th Infantry, Fort Riley, Kansas, from December 1992 to April 1994; Team Leader, Squad leader, BFV commander and BFV instructor in 1 st Battalion, 29 th Infantry Regiment Fort Benning, Georgia from April 1994 to June 1998; Squad leader, Section leader, and Platoon Sergeant in 2 nd Battalion, 16 th Infantry in Baumholder, Germany from July of 1998 to July of 2000; Troop Master, Squadron Master Gunner, Platoon Sergeant and Liaison NCOIC in 2 nd Squadron, 11 th ACR in 11 th Regiment, Fort Irwin, California from July 2000 to March 2006; From January 2005 to January 2006 1SG Dixon was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom III. In April 2006 1SG Dixon was assigned to the United States Military Academy Preparatory School, Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, where he served as the Battalion Tactical Department Senior NCO and Charlie Company TAC NCO.
His military education includes: The Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, First Sergeant Course, Bradley Fighting Vehicle Master Gunner Course, Instructor Trainer Course, Unit Armorer Course, Hazmat Course, Bradley Crew Evaluator Course, Senior Instructor/Operator Course, Unit Level Maintenance Course, Total Army Retention Course, and Equal Opportunity Representatives Course, Unit Prevention Leaders Course. He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security.
His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Metal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3rd award), Army Achievement Medal (7 th award), Good Conduct Medal (6 th award), Global War On Terrorism Expedition Medal, Army Service Ribbon, National Defense service Medal (BNZ STR), Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon-3, Overseas Service Ribbon-2, Expert Drivers Badge (Track), Expert Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge, he is an inductee of the Prestigious Audie Murphy Club.
