The Orienteering team completed a challenging course yesterday in Holmdel Park. One orienteerer came back covered in mud, and another discovered a cow pasture. The course was an “Orange” level of difficulty, and it consisted of 8 points spread across 3,420 meters of rolling hills and forest. The top three finishers were CC Jednak, with a time of 45 minutes, CC Sepp, with a time of 54:05, and CC Donovan, with a time of 59:44.
Orienteering is called the “thinking” sport, and I want to take a moment to congratulate the seven orienteerers (41% of the team) who made the Dean’s List for the 1st Quarter. Good job CCs Bashford, Bray, Greeno, Jednak, Kezele, Rodriguez, and Schwartzman. I hope that you do even better in the 2ND Quarter.
The next orienteering event is the State Boy Scout Championships at Washington’s Crossing State Park this Saturday, 27 October.
