2LT Pierre Hines
2LT Pierre Hines was born in Rahway, New Jersey on February 20, 1985. He spent most of his childhood in Tempe, AZ. He graduated from Mountain Pointe High School in Phoenix, AZ.
While in high school, 2LT Hines lettered all four years in soccer and captained the soccer team his senior year. He also participated in high school football and baseball. 2LT Hines played club soccer for the Tempe Soccer Club and after graduating from high school in 2003, he enrolled in the United States Military Academy at West Point.
While at West Point, he was a four-time letterman on the Army soccer team. 2LT Hines served as a defensive back for the Black Knights and over the course of four years started 65 of 69 games while appearing in 67 of 69 games.
In his senior, 2LT Hines earned the Earnest Easterbrook Award—an award reserved for someone who displays leadership and character—and the Athletic Merit Award.
2LT Hines majored in Economics and was commissioned as a Military Intelligence Officer upon graduation in May of 2007.
