Brendan Copes

3rd Season

Marist College, 2003

 

Brendan Copes enters his third season as the Head Coach of the West Point Prep Women’s Basketball program.

Prior to his arrival at Ft. Monmouth, Copes spent three seasons as an administrative assistant coach for the Marist College Men’s Basketball team. 

During his coaching stint at Marist, he was primarily responsible for strength and conditioning, academics, scouting/film editing, and player development.  He also served as the Director of the Marist College Boys’ Basketball Camp.

Copes earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism-Sports Administration from Marist in 2003. 

As a member of the Marist College Men’s Basketball team, he played for Dave Magarity now the Head Women’s Coach at West Point. 

Copes served as team captain his senior year and was named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic team.

Copes earned his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Marist College in the Fall of 2007.

A native of Windsor Locks, CT Copes currently resides in Eatontown, NJ.

2LT Courtney Wright

1st Season

West Point, 2009

2LT Courtney Wright begins her first season on the West Point Prep staff.

As a member of the 2005 USMAPS Women’s Basketball team, Wright played under head coach Steven Sauers and helped the team achieve a 16-7 record.

Following her year at USMAPS, 2LT Wright helped the Army Women's Basketball team capture its first Patriot League Tournament title and subsequent trip to the NCAA Tournament.

 

A 4-time letterman at West Point, Wright played under current Head Coach Dave Magarity and served as team captain her senior year.

Coach Wright graduated from USMA in May 2009 and earned a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Management.
