ALL ABOUT ARMY PREP |
| Each year the Army Women's Basketball Program sends recruits to USMAPS to participate in a one year developmental program. At Army Prep, recruits learn and understand concepts of the college game and improve basketball fundamentals under Head Coach Brendan Copes and Assistant Coach 2LT Erin Begonia. Student-athletes also enhance their strength, speed, and agility through a rigorous off-season conditioning program developed by the strength coaches at West Point. The women's team competes in a 25 game schedule against the nation’s top junior colleges, prep schools, and club teams before entering West Point and playing Division 1 basketball for Head Coach, Dave Magarity. Four current Army Varsity players including Stefanie Stone, Courtney Wright, Nargis Kabiri, Phaneslyn Williams and Jessie Coiffard are former “Prepsters”. Stone and Wright helped Army capture the 2005-2006 Patriot League Title and their first ever trip to the NCAA Tournament. |
