Austin Laetsch

Laetsch comes to us oiut of Parkland, FL, where at Stoneman Douglas High School he was a two-time Regional Runner-up, a District Champion, a Co-Captain, and a two-time State Qualifier, taking seventh place in the 2007 FHSAA State Tournament.  Academically, Austin was a member of the National Honor Society, Rha Kappa, ELTS, and Army JROTC.  Laetsch has worked extremely hard in his time at USMAPS, and will be a threat this season.  Wrestling in the 184 lbs. weight class, he is a huge asset to the team. 

The Black Knights will count on Laetsch this season for some big wins, both in duals and tournaments.  Austin has networked well with his fellow teammates, and will only get closer to them this season.

Personal:  Austin David Laetsch.  Birthday is 2 July 1988.  Austin says he wanted to attend the military academy since he was 14 as one of his main reasons for coming to USMAPS.  Additionally, he says he came because he is a history buff, and wanted to experience the tradition and leadership training.  He lists favorite athlete as Lance Armstrong.  Laetsch says that his favorite thing about wrestling is suffering all week to win.  Among Austin’s personal goals are to maintain a winning record, beat Navy Prep, make great friends, learn to live independently, and manage his money.
