Jake Persoon

Persoon comes to USMAPS from Interlaken, NY.  He has a natural gift for wrestling on his feet, and has worked a double leg takedown that is likely to take some people out this season. 

Jake has a great attitude and does anything the coach or teammates ask of him.  He gets along great with the team, and is integral in keeping the team cohesive.  Persoon originally joined the team as a manager, but has found his role on the team as a wrestler and will stay in that role this season.  He has a great attitude and personality, which drew the rest of the team to him during CCBT as he changed over from the football program to the wrestling team. 

Personal:  Jacob Peter Persoon.  Birthday is 17 June 1989.  Persoon would like to perfect his takedowns and turns this season.  He lists getting in top physical condition, making good friends, having fun, and learning some wrestling moves as his main goals for this year.  Academically, Jake would like to start out with B level grades and work toward making A’s at the end of the year.  Jake also lists having a family with a nice home and possibly a farm as some of his post military academy goals.  With his work ethic, these goals are not “if’s” for Persoon, but “when’s”.
