Johnson is a walk-on wrestler from Rancho Cucamunga, CA.  While at Los Osos High School, Johnson was a two year CIF Qualifier, Most Improved Wrestler, and the Team Captain.  Ryan has continued his high school success at USMAPS thus far.  He has drastically improved his technique, and should contend for NCWA All-American status this season.  He is extremely dedicated to improving himself, as he has stayed after practices for extra mat time.  It has certainly shown as he has gotten tougher and tougher.

One of Johnson’s best qualities is his ability to continually improve: there is no ceiling for the potential of this athlete.  He has also labored hard in the weight room, working to put on enough muscle to be a rock at the 197 lbs. weight class this year.

Personal:  Ryan Kenneth Johnson.  Birthday is 26 October 1989.  Ryan lists serving his country and getting a good education as his main reason for attending the military academy.  Johnson’s personal goals include maintaining strong relationships with his family, friends, and girlfriend.  Academically, he would like to make the Commandant’s list and remain on the list for the year.  Johnson also lists defeating Navy Prep, both individually and as a team, as one of his goals this year.
