Tarek Slater

Slater comes to us from Houston, TX.  He is from a military family, and attended nine different high schools, finishing at Westmoore High in 2007.  Tarek has been wrestling since the 9th grade, and has a true passion for the sport.  He has a mean single leg takedown that will only improve as the season progresses. 

Slater has already made some big gains in the weight room, and will be a force this season.  He keeps a great attitude in the wrestling room and while conditioning.  Slater is one of the more quiet guys on the team, letting his actions speak above his words.

Personal: Tarek William Slater.  Birthday is 28 July 1988.  Slater says he came to the military academy so he can become an Army Officer.  He lists Green Bay Packers Quarterback Brett Favre as his favorite athlete, and says his favorite thing about wrestling is winning.  Tarek would like to master his technique this season, as reach peak physical condition.  He plans to see New York City, go surfing, and have fun in his time on the Jersey Shore.  He would like to see his mother this year, who is currently serving on an overseas deployment.  Academically, Tarek will strive for A’s and B’s this year, and his lifetime goals include owning his own business and seeing the world.
