2LT Austin Milster
Head Coach Austin Milster was born and raised in Hoover, AL. He attended high school at Hoover High, graduating in 2003. Academically, he was a member of the National Honor Society.
In the wrestling field, his accomplishments include: 3x State Champion, and 1x State runner-up, 4x Section Champion, voted as the 2003 Section 1 and State Tournament Most Outstanding Wrestler. USA Wrestling High School All-American. He also ran the K-12 wrestling program before arriving at West Point.
While at West Point, he was a 4 year wrestler. He earned 2 Varsity Letters, and was 4th at the New York Intercollegiate State Tournament. Academically, he made the dean’s list in his last three semesters. He graduated in May 2007 with a B.S. in Leadership, and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army Field Artillery.
USMAPS is 2LT Milster’s first active duty assignment. He is scheduled to attend officer basic training when his coaching stint at USMAPS is completed late this winter.
His hobbies include coaching wrestling, working out, cooking, watching TV and movies, attending church, visiting friends and family, traveling, and fishing. His goal for the team this season is to maximize each wrestler’s potential, and to prepare each team member to succeed in all areas of their lives while at West Point.
