Admissions : Visit_Overnight

Overnight Programs

Once you have been admitted to West Point, you may want more than just a few hours on the West Point campus. If you are looking for a more in-depth experience, then consider scheduling a visit that involves an overnight stay.

Overnight Visit

West Point cadets enjoy welcoming students to campus and often share many interests with them. Scheduling a visit with an overnight stay on campus is a great way to observe the cadet experience for 24+ hours. You will see what daily life is like by:

  • accompanying your cadet escort to class and other activities
  • spending one night in the "barracks"
  • eating meals with your escort in the "Cadet Mess"

An overnight visit is available to applicants (candidates) who have received an Offer of Admission, a Letter of Assurance or a Letter of Encouragement that they will most likely be offered admission.

You can schedule an overnight visit Monday through Friday during the academic term. Your program will begin at 7:45 a.m. and conclude around 1:00 p.m. the following day. Just request a visit either online or by calling (845) 938 -5760 between 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Summer Leaders Experience

If you are a high school junior, consider applying to this week-long summer leadership program. You will live on campus, take academic classes and get a taste of the military, sports and recreational activities here. Just be sure that you apply before April 1 of your junior year.  For more information, click on the Summer Program link on the left.

NOTE:  Candidates must select a tour date at least two weeks prior to the current date. Cancellations or new appointments may not be made within two weeks of the current date.
