The newest performing unit of the West Point Band is the high-energy popular music group the BENNY HAVENS BAND (BHB). Authentic lead vocals, searing electric guitars, and a tight horn section enable the BHB to perform audience favorites in Rock, Pop, Country, Hip-hop, Motown, R&B, and Club/Dance styles.
The BENNY HAVENS BAND performs primarily for the United States Corps of the Cadets at formal cadet dances and other social functions at the Academy.
At a typical West Point “hop,” cadets and their dates pack the dance floor and are treated to an exciting, high-impact show of their favorite hits performed non-stop,
back to back with professional lighting and sound production. The BHB is constantly adding new music to its extensive repertoire, making every event special and memorable for the Corps.
American Idol finalist Phil Stacey recently joined the BENNY HAVENS BAND at Trophy Point Amphitheatre for the West Point Band’s annual 1812 Concert. The BHB drew a large crowd at the U.S.S. Intrepid as they entertained service members and appreciative New Yorkers during Fleet Week 2010. Similarly, 36,000 fans attending West Point Homecoming 2010 at Michie Stadium rocked out with the BENNY HAVENS BAND in tribute to the returning West Point Graduates.
The BHB performs current popular music and all-time favorites with the dedication and musical precision for which the West Point Band is famous. “THE BENNY HAVENS BAND: THE OFFICIAL PARTY BAND OF THE UNITED STATES CORPS OF CADETS.”
