USMA Band Audio Section
The above picture is of the USMA Band audio control room. The room is a current technology project studio. The room feature the best of new digital recording and vintage analog gear. The studio is connected to the main rehearsal hall and the Jazz Knights rehearsal room. The room is also a fine example of an Army self-help project. The majority of the room renovation was completed with band manpower.
The audio section handles a variety of mission requirements for the USMA Band and the Military Academy. Direct support for live performances is the bulk of the mission. This includes the much celebrated Trophy Point summer concert series.
The two soldier staff are MSG David Hershey from Littleton, Colorado and SFC Blair Ferrier from Cookeville, Tennessee. MSG Hershey serves as the section leader and is primarily responsible for Concert Band operations. SFC Ferrier works with the Jazz Knights. The section comes together for the larger events including The Hudson Valley Holiday Concert and Army Football halftime shows.
