Information
The United States Military Academy Band is the oldest musical organization in the United States Army. Its primary mission is to provide musical support for the United States Corps of Cadets. The Military Academy Band performs a wide variety of commitments, including public concerts, ceremonies, chamber music recitals, recording sessions, and athletic events, and has performed at such prestigious venues as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Tanglewood and the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. An assignment in the United States Military Academy Band is stabilized. Promotion to Staff Sergeant is awarded after completion of four months service. please call The USMA Band is an Equal Opportunity Employer Administrative/Personnel NCO A member of the USMA Band’s Personnel and Administration Division, the Administrative/ Personnel NCO’s duties will include: The Administrative/Personnel NCO will assist the Administrative Sergeant Major in personnel and administrative matters by acting as the point of contact in issues relating to the welfare of Soldiers and their families. Individual will provide advice, counsel, and assistance to the commander and unit staff pertaining to personnel administration. Interpret, understand and help implement Department of the Army/Defense regulations, policies and precedents pertaining to personnel actions. As the unit's personnel advisor, will provide administrative support to the command staff and Soldiers handling personnel issues. Will serve as the primary liaison between TUSMAB, Military Personnel Division (MPD), and DFAS and will be responsible for oversight of all personnel and financial actions flowing through the unit. Serve as the primary contact for arriving Soldiers and assisting Soldiers who are transitioning from the unit (retirement, PCS or separating from service). Ensure the timeliness, flow, and quality of OERs, NCOERs, promotion requests, awards, command correspondence, leaves, authorized personnel absences, separations, chapter discharges, MOS change requests, reassignments, name changes, legal affairs and other requests. Use eMILPO/DIMHRS for personnel transactions and generate required reports (Unit Commander's Finance Report, AAA-199, AAA-162 and other monthly reports) as needed by the unit, MPD or higher headquarters. Review all completed transactions for content and administrative accuracy prior to sending for signature by the commander or authorized representative. Provide counseling on benefits, entitlements, career and bonus programs, educational, retirement and other benefits. Ensure personnel records are kept current and accurate and contain the proper supporting documentation. Individual is expected to accomplish a variety of personnel transactions including appointments, enlistments, separations, promotions, orders, duty assignments, transfers, officer and enlisted evaluations, line of duty actions, retirements, applications for schools and military pay transactions. Individual will provide assistance to members and dependents involving benefits and entitlements, survivor benefits, and other personal affairs/family support activities. Individual must possess in-depth knowledge of and skill in applying military personnel rules, procedures, and operations sufficient to perform a full range of support activities. Initiate and maintain military personnel records for assigned officers and enlisted individuals, working with them, as well as from supporting documentation, to ensure that information and data are current and accurate. Ensure complete and accurate military personnel data is provided and entered into automated personnel reporting systems to include eMILPO, iPERMS, DIMHRS and local Microsoft Office Products. Perform a variety of military personnel related administrative duties to include typing and distribution of correspondence and other written material, maintaining master files of publications, special orders, correspondence, etcetera. A high degree of computer literacy is expected. Duties will include the reception and distribution of mail, telephone calls and other information such as military pay data, medical information, etc. Individual will serve as a Unit Mail Clerk. Must posses a valid driver's license. Must be able to obtain and hold a government driver's license for sedan and/or van. Must be able to obtain and keep a security clearance for the purpose of picking up and distributing mail and distribution for the unit. Soldier will also perform other administrative and unit duties as assigned. The applicant should be capable of independently planning the work, resolving problems and carrying out successive steps of assignments, making adjustments using established practices and procedures, recommending alternative actions to the supervisor, and referring new or controversial issues to the supervisor for direction. Work will be reviewed for technical soundness, appropriateness and conformity to policies and requirements.

Ceremonial Bugle/Trumpet The United States Military
Academy Band is the oldest musical organization in the United
States Army. The Hellcats Field Music Group is the USMA Band’s
oldest component, dating back to 1776. They are the
premier bugle and drum ensemble of the U.S. Army. The
Hellcats are comprised of eight buglers and five rudimental
drummers whose primary mission is to support the United States
Corps of Cadets; performing at Reveille, Retreat, meal
formations, drills, military funerals, public concerts, and
marching in USCC reviews. Applications should include a résumé, recent full-length photograph and audition CD, less than six months old, consisting of Charlier #2 and repertoire of the candidate's choice performed on Bb or C trumpet. All military personnel should submit their Enlisted Records Brief, Commander's intent-to-release letter and DA photo. Candidates may be considered for other unit vacancies not known at the time of closing.

Jazz Vocalist Primary duties include performing with the Jazz Knights big band and combos in various jazz settings. Other performance requirements include singing popular, patriotic and other contemporary styles for dances, holiday events and military ceremonies. Interested applicants should send a resume, a recent full-length photograph and three copies of a high-quality CD or DVD not more than six months old. The recording should emphasize the applicant’s ability to sing in small and large group jazz settings (preferably big band). It should also demonstrate versatility in a variety of popular styles.
